Heights of hypocrisy

In life I've come across a few things which triggered me and a few things which made my blood start boiling. There are a few things wrong which we all are doing knowingly or unknowingly.

Worshipping of any God or Goddess especially Satvik deity

Many worship Hanumanji or many other satvik Devi devtas but they forgot the basics about worshipping them. I have come across a lot of people who worship Hanuman ji and consume intoxicants/non-veg. They say, "We don't consume non-veg nor intoxicants on Tuesdays and on Saturdays."

Sadly they are the biggest hypocrites ever, it's like the existence of Hanuman ji is for two days a week, seems like the rest of the days he is not active or he might not be there in the universe. And again there are people who consume such things and right after consuming it even without taking a shower do the Hanuman Chalisa on a regular basis.

Such fools are they, the basic is if you can't please God then at least don't annoy him. God never asked you to worship as God was there when you were not here, God is still there whether you believe it or not and God will be there even when we are gone.

But if you really want to worship then you need to adapt some disciplines or it's just hypocrisy and nothing else. It's like murdering someone and taking Lord Ramas name.

Again this is one of the reasons even after worshipping any deity you never get anything in life and eventually you blame God and start whining that after doing lots of worship and prayers you didn't get anything. It's just your state of mind. Even if you go to a school you have to follow some protocols or else you will be kicked out of the school likewise while worshipping you have to follow some protocols or else it's just a total waste of your time and energy also it's disrespect towards your deity as well believe it or not.

Lighting up the lamp

Be it any day vasant panchami, some foundation of your company, one of the most important events of your organisation or any day which is crucial, mostly Indians light up the lamp before starting any auspicious work.

Sadly, they know that they have to show their gratitude and respect towards their respective deity(Lord Ganesha, Saraswati maate, etc) but again they either forget or out of the so-called western culture they forget to open their footwear.

This is so sick when they do any sort of worship they are never barefoot and always light up the lamp wearing their footwear. If this is not hypocrisy what is then? Either you are too ashamed to open your footwears or you are just an ignorant fool.

If that's how we are going to show respect to our deities in front of our entire country then what are we teaching exactly to our upcoming generation? And then we say that kids of this generation are degrading day by day. Isn't the fault lies in our hands?

We indulge ourselves too much into western culture that gradually we start forgetting our own rich culture and just to look cool we do such stupidities on a regular basis.

A year or two years back I saw some reel in which one of the actresses of India, Ms. Tamannaah was invited to a ceremony where she was the only one who opened her footwears without feeling ashamed during the lamp lighting ceremony. In fact, she was proud and showed our youth how to pay respect to our deities. I think we all should learn from her. If she has done it as a famous personality of course she got many followers then automatically most of her followers learned some good thing from her. It's the way we can open the eyes of the youth.

नारी शक्ति or a joke?

The biggest hypocrisy of today's time and place is that in the entire World there are an immense number of people who worship various forms of Bhagwati(Supreme Goddess) in a way or two yet they insult women, beat women, abuse them and make their life a living hell.

In Durga Saptashati(one of the granth/books on Durga maate) there's this shlok -

या देवी सर्वभूतेषु शक्ति-रूपेण संस्थिता।

नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः॥

When translated loosely it goes like, "The Goddess who resides in the form of Shakti in all beings, we now bow in front of her."

In this very granth it was clearly mentioned that Devi says I reside in all females in the form of intelligence, kindness, love, consciousness, forgiveness, etc.

Yet after  knowing this, look at the condition of women today and such people conduct all Navratri and do the stuti of Devi on a regular basis yet they forget to give respect to women. Isn't it hypocritical?

The main reason behind writing this article is to wake you up and make you look at things from a different perspective. Sometimes knowingly or unknowingly we do things which we don't know whether right or wrong. But the moment you figure out then I think we all should change and understand only then a perspective can be built.

I really hope that with this article I was able to put my views and make you understand that such things shouldn't be ignored at all or else the darkness which we all talk about can never be removed.
